(Bangkok Post) - About 3,000 police and troops are guarding the Bangkok residence of Prime Minister Abhisit Vejajiva in Sukhumvit Soi 31 and the nearby area, a police officer said on Wednesday.
He said police and soldiers were deployed after a report that red-shirt supporters of the United front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) would rally in front of Mr Abhisit’s home later today.
He affirmed that police will not allow the red-shirts to gather at the premier’s home and will ask them to rally only at the entrance to the side-road.
